Welcome to Chondrosarcoma Support
SHARING SUPPORT WITH OTHERS IN OUR CHONDROSARCOMA JOURNEYS

Whether you are newly diagnosed, not sure yet, or have already been through it all, you will find a good place to share common interests with others who can understand what you are experiencing within the Chondrosarcoma Support Group.

If you are a loved one, caregiver, or medical professional (who works with Chondrosarcoma patients) you may also join the support group.

Joining our group is simple - first, read the rules below this message. Then, you'll need to register for an account at our forum. Your profile information can only be viewed by other members - it cannot be viewed by the public. And you can check a box to hide your e-mail address from everyone but our administrator(s).

After your membership has been accepted, it will be up to you how much you wish to share with the group in your introductory post. No matter where your chondrosarcoma is located, there is someone in the group who has had the same, and can fill you in on their experiences.

You don't have to be alone in your situation. There are others with chondrosarcoma diagnosis who have been where you are.

Please read the following rules before registering.

We want your experience at the Chondrosarcoma Support Forum to be enjoyable, meaningful, and safe. So that the forum remains a great place for all of us to share, please abide by the following rules.

1. Respect everyone and be responsible.
We come from different backgrounds with different experiences and feelings. People choose a variety of paths in life, and we hope that everyone can feel comfortable sharing aspects of their own paths. Respect your fellow forum-goers and what they have to say. Personal attacks will not be tolerated. This forum is not the place to air personal grievances against other members. You are responsible for the contents of your posts. Express yourself in whatever way you want, but if your post is deemed objectionable, forum moderators reserve the right to edit or delete it.

2. Do not give medical advice.
While everyone is welcome to share their personal experiences relating to their cancer, treatments, side effects, etc., do not offer medical advice on these forums. For example, feel free to share how well a treatment worked for you, but do NOT attempt to persuade someone else to follow the same treatment. Everyone responds differently and what worked (or didn’t) in one patient is not an indicator of how it will (or won’t) work for other patients. Asking someone to see their doctor is not medical advice.

3. Do not seek medical advice.
Feel free to ask about others' experiences, but never rely on anything that is said in the forum without consulting your physician.

4. Do not advertise, promote your product, or ask for donations.
If you have a commercial product you think could be valuable to the community, contact the site administrator by email. Any posts suspected of promoting "miracle cures" will not be tolerated. There is a fine line with regards to complementary and alternative medicines, many of which are valuable for cancer patients, but the administrator reserves the right to make those distinctions. Requests for donations should first be sent to the administrator, not posted to the forum. Do not promote or market your services or products to our members.

5. Do not flood the forums with similar posts.
Pick the best place for your message, and just post it once! Your message may be moved if the topic is more appropriate on a different board.

6. Keep your account current.
Because we are an active support community, accounts that have been inactive for six months and those without a valid e-mail address will be removed. Also, all members agree to post an introductory message in the forum. We require this because members can see information about everyone, so it is only fair that they also post some information about themselves. PLEASE, DO NOT LURK!

7. The moderators' decisions are final.
If you have concerns, please notify the administrator or a moderator in email rather than on the forums. While our leaders keep an eye on the forums, it is impossible to review the content of each message as it is posted, and inappropriate messages cannot be immediately removed. The leadership reserves the right to delete any message at any time for any reason or no reason at all. The administrator reserves the right to suspend a membership if he or she believes that a member's messages have a negative impact on others, or if the member's posts are consistently out of the scope of this forum. The administrator will explain why a post has been deleted and give more than one warning before suspending a membership.

Rules are subject to change at any time as needed. Views expressed in postings are those of the individual and are not necessarily those of the Chondrosarcoma Support Group. We cannot guarantee the accuracy or validity of any message. Many messages are viewable by the general public. These message boards are not meant as a substitute for the advice of a doctor, therapist, or other trained professional.

When you register, please use your first name (or nickname) as your username. Please do not use a cover ID. Do you really want to communicate with someone who has no name? Do you really want to be known as a nameless one? If your name is taken, add something to the end of it. For example, if your name is Bob, register as Bob or as Bob_S or as Bob_2003. You might use the year of your diagnosis after your first name. Using our names is what makes this a close community of people who care about each other. Click here to register for an account!
